We've installed a Bulletin Board for your use. No used car notices, but please do send us notices of Sport-Dev-Peace projects requiring funding and/or collaborators; of internships; and of pertinent job openings or positions sought.

Merce Cunningham said about dance that it "gives you nothing back ... nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive." Hmmm... isn't a form of peace?

November 15, 2009 Our draft commentary on the report of the UN's Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace addresses only the preliminary questions (What is sport? Why focus on sport? and so on). We will have more to say about the question of how to expand the application of sport-dev-peace strategies, and what MM can do to help. One option we'd propose is to get the word out that funders (governmental and non-governmental agencies) need to consider the kind of low-budget projects that generally fly below the horizon of deep-pocket donors. Another possibility is to use MM itself as a bulletin board. If you have a project and need collaborators or funding, we can provide space for you to make a pitch. We'll contact potential donors and try to convince them that they ought to be looking at your projects.

November 15, 2009 Some of you have pointed out that Recurrent Events link was neither functional nor grayed-out (signifying not yet posted). We had been intending to post an article on the Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon, but, as we have not been able to get that ready, we have simply gone ahead with some material from the Bridges-PRTD Web site. Although the Recurrent Events in question have not yet occurred for the first time, we think that the discussion is nonetheless pertinent.

November 14, 2009 We've posted a draft commentary on the report of the UN's Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace. Although the SDP Report may be regarded as a sort of mission statement for the field as well as for this journal, it entails numerous questionable claims and generalizations. Is this a problem? Please share your views!

November 8, 2009 Many of the departments have now been populated at with stub articles. Please have a look, and do leave your comments on our Blog. Those links that are grayed out are still awaiting development. If you would like to take on the management of any of these departments, or propose another, contact us.

Oct. 27, 2009 There's a new list of Departments on the front page. We are aware that the links are still non-functional.

Sept. 22, 2009 We've done some modest reformating and expansion. Most of the material on our front page is just borrowed from other sources, but it represents some of the sorts of stories we should be covering. We'll be issuing a call for contributions shortly.

Sports lesson: pain is funny.

Sept. 8, 2009 We are reformating and expanding the MM Web site. Thank you for your patience.

Is there a lesson here?
